Historical Review
The Aguadilla Campus of Inter American University of Puerto Rico began its labor as an auxiliary center of the San Germán Campus in 1957, in the old high school of Aguadilla. In 1960 the facilities of the university center were re-located and began to offer secretarial and commercial administration courses, besides the two year study program to obtain the Teacher's Certificate. In 1965 it transformed into a Regional College. In 1985 a structural complex was inaugurated at Sector Calero of Aguadilla, and in 1991, through a resolution approved by the board of Trustees, the college was turned into the Aguadilla Campus. Starting from this moment the Campus began an ascending development converting into one of the most prestigious university campuses and of major contribution to social, economic and cultural growth of the western region. The Aguadilla Campus offers the student body and surrounding communities the opportunity to participate in activities that enrich our town life.
In 2002 the construction of the Informatics and Telecommunications Center was finished, which offers the university community the opportunity to be part of the technological development. Then in the year 2005 a modern kitchen laboratory was inaugurated for the new Chef certificates and the Associates in Food Services.
In 2006 the new Distance Learning Center was inaugurated in the municipality of San Sebastian with the latest in technology. Here our distance students will be able to access their courses and receive all the support that with pleasure we offer.
