“Inter-American University of Aguadilla as its primary mission the integral formation of its students through an education of excellence in the under graduate and graduate levels. For the achievement of that purpose, all the academic areas will be strengthened, giving special attention to interdisciplinary education and integration of technology in all the areas of knowledge. These will be developed in accordance with political, economic, social and cultural changes within a global context.
It aspires to ensure the graduates meet the working environment expectations and are capable to serve a society in constant change. Therefore, efforts will be directed towards the achievement of a self-motivated, creative, responsive professional, with vast scientific, humanistic and technical knowledge, capable to adopt to change and acquire new knowledge that will permit continuous development in their personal and professional aspect.”

Goals (Vision 2012)
a. Develop students who take responsibility for their apprenticeship, self-directed and co-owners of teaching and learning process. Graduates will be distinguished by their social commitment, culture appreciation, environmental awareness, critical thinking, handling of multi-manner communication skills, skillful use of technology and steadiness to pursue their continuous personal and professional improvement.
b. Transform the faculty in learning facilitators. They will attentively respond to the increasing demand of interdisciplinary approaches in the development of the educated person. Agents of change, creative, prepared in the use of advanced technologies that result in quality education and promote innovation and research. They will also be sensible to the students’ necessities.
c. Strengthen apprenticeship and investigation like core knowledge of development and the search for truth. Moreover, to promote the effective use of technology as a tool for self-learning throughout life.
d. Establish an academic offer that favors its development as a university without boundaries that offers a flexible curriculum with multiple educational methods. The curriculum will be interdisciplinary and reflect the continuing dialectic between the human experience, reasoning, science, technology and creativity, fundamental elements for knowledge development and formation of the educated person.
e. Develop an infrastructure model by merging technology with all the academic processes and services adjusting the physical installations to the advance technologies. This infrastructure guarantees distant access to information to all university community sectors. |
