What is the University Learning Center (ULC)?

The ULC is part of the proposal Building Campus Retention of Title V Program, which unites the Aguadilla and San German campuses. Our primary mission is to guarantee the student's academic success by retention at the University. It encourages a culture of work that enhances the quality of learning and access to a higher education for the entire community.

 

What is our goals?

As part of our mission, the educational goals of the ULC are:

• Increase retention and academic success by improving the campus environment.
• Convert the campus in a learning community.
• Develop the ULC to strengthen education, learning, mentoring and training.
• Develop an organizational culture focused on retention, involving faculty, administration and the students themselves with various trainings.
• Adopt a counseling and mentoring model to promote growth strategies and life skills. 

In addition, our goals in the technological area are:

• Acquire of technological equipment to strengthen the instruction and support services to the student.
• Train the faculty and administrative staff in the use of technology and provide materials for its realization.
• Increase access to computer technology in the campus.
• Train students in the use of virtual laboratories.
• Collaborate in strengthening distance education.
