What is Student Council?
Student councils, as provided by the General Student Regulations, may be organized at all the instructional units of the University. Their members are elected from the student bodies according to the established procedures.
The Student Council is given funds for organizing activities promoting student life and academic endeavors of the unit.
Student concerns are channeled through the Student Councils. The Council meets regularly with University authorities and receives relevant information about University development.
The functions and objectives of the Students Council are mainly:
Represent the students in all matters that are of interest and act as a speaker of this group. Attend and support all student representatives at any university body.
Defend the rights of students, ensure their progress and work for greater recognition.
Council Duties
Participate in the organization of the university, raising the public's interest in culture, arts and sports life, promoting and supporting all efforts to this end.
Support and participate in the concession of scholarships, grants and everything leading to the recognition and development of personal abilities of the student.
